Dear Friends,
Many thanks for serious discussion regarding my car. I am generally agree with you that building the expedition mobile under the 3,5t GVV is trying to find the compromise between comfort and kilograms. I tried to keep it maximum compromised. I would like to clarify few things which I understood from your discussion (if google translator made a proper translation):
1. Silent blocks I have changed just in advance - just to be sure that I will have no surprises during my planned trip. I don't know if it was a real need to change it or it was not really necessary action. By silent blocks I mean the position number: 91B1013, 91B1012 from spare catalogue. 2. The same philosophy was used to change: brake pads, bearings, clutch, break pipes, muffler. I have changed it not because these parts have been broken. It was change to anticipate the problems which sooner or later would occur, and to have a physical comfort driving few thousand kilometers from home. 3. Front spring leafs changed to sahara type in hope to increase the suspension comfort. waist of money at general - comfort stay at the same level. 4. I have made a quick calculation of weight after the rear axle. More or less it is like that: GFK walls 125kg, furniture 20kg, windows 30 kg, spare wheel: 80kg, bumper 30kg, water tank empty 10kg. Total: 300kg. Of course we need to add frame weight, and the equipment you will pack to storage boxes.
General idea of the planned trip which determined my decision regarding weight, size of tires, box dimensions etc was to have a car ready to drive 80% on bed asphalt road, and 20% on good off road (field, and forest roads)
What Roland is 101% right is the opinion of webasto seats!!! Wooden chair in the waiting room of dentist cabinet is triple more comfortable then this webasto. But it can be changed easily - as far as the ISRI agent told me - any 216mm anchoring seat for example from DAF will be ok.
If there are any other questions - just let me know - i will try to answer.
