Hello !
This German truck seemes to have some trouble in the middle of Tungná river in Iceland.

Das ist ne Verschwörung, ein Mog bleibt nicht stecken.
Wasn't a little overdone, a helicopter rescue in tis case?
Jens
From looking at the pics, I would have thought this to be a rescue exercise. I cannot imagine that this position of the truck made a helicopter rescue necessary. But maybe there was a mechanical fault?

hello
i think it could be only a medical problem of the driver ....

I have meet them one week ago when the helped a german IFA L60 that got in trouble on the road between Sprengisandur and Kerlingarfjöll.
They had been in Iceland some times before and the driver told me that he had tried to pass the Blanda north of Hofsjökull one day before but that he put in the reversegear when he notices that the water was much to deep.
According to the news, this truck was passing Tungnaá river on the highland, the drive broke in the middle of the river, the man goes alone looking for help, leaving his wife alone in the truck in the river, the man phones for help from somwhere and then a helicopter comes to rescue the lady from the vehicle.
Hi hekla,
<img src="/forum_php/images/graemlins/thankx.gif" alt="" /> for the update. This sounds more reasonable to me.
Regards,
Marcus
