Hallo an alle!
Sorry for my lack of German, I'm an American into off-road and expedition travel and vehicles. I have a good friend and his wife who are moving to Germany next month (Ulm), and I'm trying to think of a great gift to give them at their going away party. They have a VW Syncro Westfalia and plan to do a lot of exploring around Europe. They also each have a motorcycle. Their VW is well equipped- GPS, Laptop, CB...
So, what kinds of cool, useful or unusual gift can you think of for someone new to Germany who wants to explore?

every real german possesses at least one "genuine schwarzwälder kuckucksuhr".
so i suggest to look for a small one, to fit to the instrument-panel of the vw bus.

There goes it really up! Just make a surprise and invite to Munich, that's heaven on earth with "Wurstel con Crauti" (we're global players, indeed), the Hofbraeuhaus and Octoberfest... the best bavarian culture with italian flair you can find in germany.  L.C. äck so:
