I am writing from Australia and hope you can translate to English without too much trouble. I live in Australia and have an Iveco 4x4 4010 campervan with a burnt out engine. I am wondering if you know of anywhere in Europe who would carry a reconditioned engine or have an engine out of a wrecked vehicle.
This model is not common in Australia and this is why I am having so much trouble to find a replacement engine.

Schreib ihm er soll sich einen ganz normalen Zahnriemenmotor suchen, die gibts da unten auch und sind wohl tatsächlich viel eher zu finden als der 4x4-Spezial.
Passen tut der einwandfrei, er soll bloss darauf achten das die Baujahre in etwa übereinstimmen.
ich hatte ihn zunächst auf diese Seite verwiesen, inzwischen hat er mir mehr Infos und die Fahrgestellnummer gemailt, ist ein 1999er-Modell, Motor an Überhitzung gestorben wg. Leck im Kühlsystem...

We believe there are only 25 of the 4x4 models in Australia. They were imported by Britz, a car rental co. and fitted out as campervans. Britz sold them on fairly quickly, maybe they werent popular as they fitted 4 people sleeping but with not much room to spare.. will send a photo of ours with this.
The only problem we had with our vehicle, prior to the engine overheating due to a hose breakage..was the speed on highways.. as above 100 km/per hour was not comfortable as the engine seemed to overrev.. we believe this can be overcome by larger diameter tyres. Without checking (the car is presently at the garage) we believe we had 750 R16 Pirelli tyres fitted.

We would be interested to know your opinion on engines from China. We haven't placed an order yet but they do have the exact model.
We really enjoyed the web page with all the different campervan layouts.. they are all such bright colours.. we only see white in Australia.

Ich glaube das er da einem Irrtum aufliegt, er wird da keinen Kettenmotor bekommen, nur den mit Zahnriemen.
Was ja aber kein Hinderungsgrund sein muss, im Gegenteil.
Interessant ist das auf jedenfall, die Firma sollte man vielleicht im Auge behalten, so ein 2.8er Intercoolermotor würde mir schon passen wenn man ihn bezahlen kann.

Ich kann sehr günstig einen sehr gut erhaltenen IVECO 40-10W kaufen. Nur ist kein Motor vorhanden. Und auch keine Daten über den vorher eingebauten Motor. Daher meine Frage: Weißt du, welche Motoren (Modelle) ich in den Iveco einbauen könnte?

Warum will der Aussi einen Motor um die halbe Welt transportieren, wenn es in Australien Top Instandstellungsbetrieb gibt. Wir hatten 1992 einen Motorschaden im Outback (LR109 mit Peugeot Turbodiesel). Es ist billiger und schneller, die benötigten Teile zu versenden, als gleich den ganzen Motor. Wäre das nicht eine Alternative?
Nun, der Australier vor 2 Jahren hatte wohl einen Totalschaden wegen Überhitzung (Kühlerschlauch durch und Wasserverlust in kürzester Zeit), da ist's wohl mit ein paar Teilen nicht getan.
Aktuell geht's um ein Fahrzeug hier in Deutschland, was offenbar in sehr gutem Zustand ist, aber eben ohne Motor ... wie gesagt, bisher nur eine Anmerkung, noch keine konkreten Fragen ... hab's halt hier mal angefügt, um den Fred mit den diesbezüglichen Infos wieder nach vorn zu holen.
