Hi,

the P38 box is electronic and cannot be fitted to a D90, it also has a different back end that will not accept the LT 230,

if the box came from motor and diesel engineering in the UK then it will be one of our boxes,

we use a stock 3.9 RRC ZF and rebuild it with the P38 4HP24 internals, this os probably what he is referring to,

Subject: 4HP24 vs. 4HP22?

Hello there, could you please give advice to me? I found that in the HS2800TGV - group on yahoo. A V8 P38 RR autobox has been connected to 2.8 Powerstroke engine in a D90:

I used my original ZF 4HP22 with a new 300Tdi torque converter. It

as well.

I`m interested in that engine too, but a little later. My actual problem is a slipping "22" in my all mechanic Tdi RR, which needs an overhaul soon. Is it possible to run the "24" with a mechanic 300 Tdi and without its ECU? If so, would there be any afford towards the "22"?

Thanks and best regards, Norbert
